Wild Fair Isle Knitting at the FIBRE BREAK AWAY 6-11 September 2015

Participants should be intermediate to experienced  knitters

"Fair Isle” differs from “Intarsia” by using only two colours per row/round of knitting while Intarsia uses many colours per row.
I’ll show you the two-handed way where you use your left hand for one colour and your right hand for the second colour.
You can then decide whether you want to use traditional patterns or try my Wild Knitting style playing with patterns and omitting the serious counting.

Gathered Waistcoat

This waist coat was inspired by a photo on the internet - a jacket for which no pattern was to be found. I just started knitting and had so much fun that I didn't even think of writing down what I was doing.

Wild Knitting Workshop in Plettenberg

These projects were started during the workshop held at Wool & More in Plett:

Sunday, 3 May 2015

After the Fair on 26 and 27 April I held a Wild Knitting II workshop where everybody started on a "Fractured" tunic.
Ida is the perfect model for the tunic

Everybody concentrated and hard at work

Beautiful colour combinations were chosen

Here are some pictures from the annual Fibre Fair in Wakkerstroom on 25 April
